The GN21 Handicapping Service is the preferred handicapping service for the Long Island Chapter of EWGA. Not only is it a free benefit with your annual national membership (a $25 dollar a year savings over GHIN), but it makes it that much easier for those hardworking volunteers on the Rules and Handicap Committee to comply with USGA Rules for peer review of handicaps. And maintaining a handicap on the GN21 system is not only free - it's easy. And if you're thinking, I don't need a handicap - I don't play often enough, or maybe even well enough -- well, stop right there! There are lots of reasons for all members to establish a handicap, regardless of your skill level. When you sign up for an outing at work, or your favorite charity - they ask for your handicap (so they can pair you with similarly skilled players) - now you'll have one. It will equalize your scores so you can play (and win) against a better golfer. Any member who has established a handicap can play in the annual Chapter Championship (and maybe qualify for the sectionals or nationals). You don't need to be a great golfer - you only need to have a handicap. And it's a great way to track your progress over the year.
